C, De-cember 25, 1779, cameto Newport, studied med-icine with Dr. Isaac Sen-ter, and here opened an office and devoted himself to his profession, whichhe followed for more than thirty years. He was one of the founders ofthe Rhode Island Medical Society, in which society he held an office fora number of years. He died at Charleston, January 21, 1835, and his re-mains were brought to Newport and laid in the grave in which his wife,daughter of Francis Malbone, had been placed twelve years before. NEWPORT.
