Lake of the Woods Schkam Lake Lake of the Woods also known as Schkam is located just 4 km 2 5 mi north of Hope on Hwy 1 17 ha 42 ac in size and lying at an elevation of 166 m 545 ft Lake of the Woods is a Rainbow stocked lake providing fishermen with trout up to 1 1 2 lbs 1 resort is located at the lake and provides a restaurant cabins beach access and canoe and boat rentals On the south side of the lake a small rest area with toilets and picnic tables Canoes and cartop boats can be launched but it is a steep access road and may be difficult This popular swimming and boating lake is a beautiful crystal clear blue color and is a welcome site for travellers heading north to the Cariboo especially on hot summer days
