Steam turbine electricity generator. This generator converts the kinetic energy of superheated steam into electricity. The steam is produced by burning coal. It is then passed into a steam turbine, to which this generator is connected. This single generator alone produces up to 350 million watts (MW) of electricity at full speed. Photographed at the Colstrip coal-fired power station, Montana, USA.
