The highland S. concinnatus also tend to show a middorsal se- ries of dark brown to black blotches somewhat similar to those of S. fragosus. In addition there is a diffuse series of small dark blotches along the dorsolateral line of highland S. concinnatus which is generally lacking or is much less well defined in the populations from the lowlands of Bougainville and the off-shore islands.
