Fusion of this with the circumferential groove results in a circumplantar groove. The latter is not present in all digital pad types. (3) The ventral part is the proper adhesive organ, the pad (Savage, 1987) (Fig. 1). Its latero-terminal limits are usually distinct formed by the groove.
