Cosmopolitan Carbine. The Cosmopolitan carbine was patented by Edward Gwyn and Abner Campbell in 1862 and manufactured at their Cosmopolitan Arms Company in Hamilton, OH. The double loop lever lowered the breech block for loading a .52 caliber paper cartridge.
