Chimpanzee conservation centre. Member of the HELP-Congo sanctuary bottle-feeding chimpanzees. The HELP sanctuary was founded in 1990. It protects and cares for chimpanzees orphaned through illegal poaching and trafficking in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). The centre was the first of its kind in the DRC and the first to show that chimpanzees could be reintroduced to the wild. It also campaigns against the illegal trafficking and poaching of these animals. Photographed at the HELP-Congo sanctuary, Pointe-Noire, Congo, in 2003.
