Timber framed houses in Elstree Hill, Bromley built on the Walter Segal self build method.

This house in Elstree Hill in Bromley was built in the 1970s in what had been the grounds of a large Victorian house. It was built using the Segal Method of timber-frame construction developed by the Swiss-born architect Walter Segal. This was designed to allow people without traditional building skills to construct their own houses. The house has a largely open-plan ground floor with three bedrooms on the first floor level.
