A closed arched doorway at the Confucian temple in Tainan, Taiwan. The temple compound consists of a temple section as well as a school section. It is considered the first school in Taiwan. Built in 1665, Tainan's Confucian temple is the oldest Confucian temple in Taiwan. It has undergone numerous restorations and additions and is still a live temple as well as a popular historical site to visit.
