Windsor, Berkshire, UK. 8th July, 2020. Chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced today that as a temporary measure following the impact of the Coronavirus lockdown, that the threshold for paying stamp duty on residential properties will increase to £500,000 with immediate effect and will run until 31st March 2021. Most properties in Windsor and Eton are on the market for in excess of £500,000 so this will not help buyers there. Credit: Maureen McLean/Alamy Live News
