Tarleton, Lancashire. Uk Weather 09/10/2018. Up to 12,000 pink-footed migratory geese newly arrived from Iceland have taken up residence in the wetlands of Lancashire. The geese, which will eventually number near the 100,000 mark, arrive as food becomes scare in Iceland and they can fatten up on the farmland potato crops of West Lancashire before travelling further south in about a month’s time.
