When a chestnut thoroughbred showswhite hairs through its coat, that peculiarityis ascribed to Venison (1833) blood, if bychance that staUions name may be found in itspedigree. Where undesirable qualities appear in theproducts of crosses in breeding for a type, theyare bred out in breeding up, or the failures arepermitted to die out.
