Pereion cylindrical, with the last twosegments shorter than the two preceding; in the male thefirst two segments are long, in the female they are rudimentary. Appendages of the cephalon subchelate; in the male the second pair ofgnathopoda articulates with the pereion near the middle orposterior extremity of the second segment, in the female atthe anterior extremity of the same segment. First two pairsof pereiopoda wanting. Three posterior pairs subequal, andplaced near to each other. One or two pairs of pleopoda
