The Alexander the Great Sarcophagus from the Necropolis of Sidon, in the archaeological museum of Istanbul, Turkey
The so-called "Sarcophagus of Alexander the Great" in the archaeological museum of Istanbul, situated right next to Topkapi palace. It was discovered in 1887, in a Necropolis of Sidon (anciend Syria). It is covered with amazing carvings of battles and life of the great Macedonian emperor, Alexander the Great. It was believed to to have been the Sarcophagus of the emperor himself but it was actually that of Sidonian King Abdalonymos).
