These and other important areas will receive special attention in the environmental assessment process for specific development projects. Additionally, several desertwide species manage- ment plans will be prepared to address the unique needs of sensitive species with wide distribution or large geographic,' ranges, such as the desert tortoise and bighorn sheep.
