Provenance: "Cassell's Complete Atlas" ( "The Weekly Dispatch Atlas"), Published by Cassell, Petter and Galpin, London. Type: Antique map with original outline colour. This map was originally printed on two separate sheets which have been physically or digitally joined; a slight discontinuity may exist along the join. This fascinating map shows British India divided between British territories, Protected States and Independent States. Military stations are indicated. Completed and then-projected/planned railways are shown. The East Indian railway running between Calcutta and Raneegunge/ Raniganj (which had been opened in 1855) is shown as completed, along with the railway from Bombay/Mumbai to Nassick/Nashik.
