I created this architectural photograph of the Historic Osceola County Courthouse in 2019. Dedicated in early May of 1890, the Historic Osceola County Courthouse is the oldest functional courthouse in the state of Florida. On August 16, 1977, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. It is a Typical Romanesque revival Courthouse constructed of Red Brick and wood. Although Osceola County built a new and larger Courthouse building, the third floor courtroom of the Historic Courthouse building is still an active courtroom, and Osceola County has the right to claim the honor of having the oldest Courthouse still being used in the State of Florida.
