In 1889 he engaged inthe livery business in Calumet, and about 1891, meeting with success in theoperation of his livery stable, he engaged also in the undertaking has a large number of horses and his undertaking business is the largestand best equipped in this section of the State. He was married in 1881 toMargaret Conway, of Houghton County, and they are the parents of sevenchildren. Politically, Mr. Ryan is a Democrat.
