The highest wire is about five feet high, and the lowest fifteen inches. There is considerable made in our district, but the grapes mostly sell for dessert. The only varieties I have tried for wine are the Catawba Isabella, and Concord. The Catawba ripens about six years out of A. H. PETTIT. MR.
