Architectural screen framing scene with statue of Pan as herm flanked by woman who places 1 hand on shoulder of statue & the other in basket of flowers held by boy as she places her knee on goat (L), & dancing woman holding castanets & tambourine (R), with another woman holding tambourine above her head (far L); figures are in front of portico with wide opening below pediment, with curtains draped around pillars, & with suspended canopy above statue; & with pairs of arched lateral openings supported by slender pillars decorated with spindle-shaped forms; balustrades extend from L & R of figures with drapery on R balustrade; parasol-like structure supporting basket of fruit surmounts pediment; peacock & other bird rest on portico (BRD) borders have inner & outer bands of classical ornament; (UPR & LWR BRD) centered by chinese warrior reclining in tent with table holding 2 cups, flanked by grotesque motifs including censers, bearded heads with horns & feathered ovals, linked by strapwork, scrolls & garlands; (L & R BRD) niche with seated Chinese man holding parasol at mid-point; above are 2 birds, a winged figure rising from sheath & holding lazy tongs above her head which support basket of flowers; below is head with cap supporting basket of fruit, peacock, & satyr with panpipes suspended from his drapery This series comprises six pieces: 3 wide,
