A casket with a domed lid, Nuremberg, circa 1620, The rectangular body made from oak wood, with a rounded lid. The sides and lid entirely veneered in ebony, interspersed with bone ornaments. The hinge straps and edge reinforcements finely worked in brass, the centre hinge strap marked "MG". The lock on the front with a hasp, the lock plate with decorative tendrils.
