(See page 48.) The os innominatum and upper partof the femur of the left side, dried. The head of the femur is transformed into a flattened mushroom-likegrowth of bone, measuring by 5 cm. The surface is porous and acetabulum is low, flaring with a growth of new bone and slightlyeburnated. 1904. Dr. F. W. Snow. 6710. Femur. A part of the femur and pelvis, head of the femur is anchylosed firmly in the acetabulum with aformation of new bone about the edge. Dr. Jeffries Wyman, 48 JOINTS.—ARTHRITIS 9917. Hip Joint. Arthritis Deformans. 6711. Acetabulum A portion of the os innominatum with the aceta-bulum, dried. It is greatly deepened by a growth of new bone about the edges. Theinner surface is slightly eburnated. Dr. Jeffries Wyman. 1351. Femur. The entire femur, dried. There is a very great change in the head and neck, none of the headremaining and only a small portion of the neck. The articular surface isaltogether below the trochanter, and inclined at an angle of about 45° withthe shaft of the bone. It is broad, somewhat convex and porous, but notrough. The edges are everted and irregular. 1847. Dr. J. C. Warren. JOINTS ARTHRITIS DEFORMANS. 49 1352. Femur.
