The Yomping Royal Marine Statue was unveiled by Baroness Thatcher in 1992 to commemorate the role played by the Royal Marines in the re-capture of the Falkland Islands from the Argentinian forces in 1982. The statue stands at the entrance to the former Royal Marines Barracks and Museum at Eastney, Portsmouth.
