There was a fine attendance at the monthly meeting of the Westchester and Fairfield Horticultural Society at the rooms in Doran's hall, Friday even- ing, July 10. President Williamson presided. One member was elected and several proposals for membership were received. The summer show com- mittee made its final report, showing a gratifying balance in favor of the society. A hearty vote of thanks was tendered the committee, including the manager of the exhibition, Wm. J. Sealey. The dates of the fall show were an- nounced. This exhibition will be held at Germania hall. New Rochelle, N. Y., November 4, 5 and 6. A complete and attractive schedule is being prepared and will be issued as soon as ready. The annual outing will be held at Edwards' Rye Beach hotel, August 11. Those requiring dinner tickets will kindly notify Wm. J. Sealey, Port- chester, N. Y., as early as convenient, so that ample provision may be made; tickets are $ a person. Sports and games will be provided so that old and young, male and female, may enjoy themselves according to fancy. Games are scheduled to start promptly at 10:30 a. m. During the recess the members were entertained by James E. Melcher, of Stamford, Conn., with some clever sleight-of-hand tricks. F. E. Conine gave some of his humorous songs and stories. There was a fine display on the ex- hibition tables. A magnificent plant in a 4-inch pot of the new geranium, Helen Miehell, gained for Alex. Mar- shall a cultural certificate.
