An English cup-hilted rapier, circa 1630. Double edged-blade of flattened hexagonal section with ricasso. The inscription "GI. PORMIREL ´ PORLAFEY" is stamped twice on both sides of the ricasso. Fine open work iron (somewhat corroded) cup with quillon finials scrolling inwards. Original, greenish discoloured grip cover with iron braided ferrules. Fluted, olive shaped iron pommel. Length cm.
