The forehead,sufficiently high, shows no lack of brains. Thebright black eyes are slightly almond-pinched atthe corners. The nose is rather low and flat, andthe lips are full. Another type of features, it maybe remarked, is also frequently seen, especially inthe north of the country, in which the eyes areround and the features are regular, sometimes evendelicately chiseled; but the black hair and blackeyes are practically universal. Mr. Pak wears athin mustache and a few straggling hairs adornhis chin—no need for him to shave every day, forthe simple reason that the Koreans, with fewexceptions, have nothing or almost nothing ontheir faces to require the use of a razor.
