Sedona, Arizona, Towering Citadels
Sedona, Arizona is a small city in the northern Verde Valley, straddling the line between Coconino and Yavapai counties. It is famous for the red sandstone formations that encircle the town. They glow a brilliant red and orange at sunrise and sunset. Many people claim the existence of psychic vortexes which supposedly encompass swirling energy, offering healing and uplifting feelings. Pink Jeep Tours offers various tours on rugged off-road adventures showing off Sedona's red rock formations. We took the Broken Arrow Tour following a trail through Coconino National Forest. Here is a zoomed-in shot of the right end of the preceding set of towering citadels. Note the tree growing on the top and what looks like a rock pile, Hawaiian-style on the right edge.
