They have been called guardianbirds, as upon the appearance of a foe theyrise, uttering loud cries, thus warning theanimal. In my garden grows a tall,graceful Abyssinian banana,its leaves at least eight feetin length and a foot in the spring, a beautifullycolored bird, yellow and black,comes and tries to take pos-session.
