The grade is low at the back of the buildings,so that the manure trolley from the cow and horse barn wasrun directly through the end of the building and emptied intocarts below. This kept the horse manure and cow manureseparate, which is sometimes preferred. Underneath the haybarn is a large cellar or shed entered from the rear at a lowerlevel. The dairy is separated from the cow barn in the usual man-ner, and the entrance to the cow barn and dairy is through thesmall porch from the roadway.
