Logan was born in Virginia, Nev., March 7, 1871. He was educated inthe public schools there. Later he spent two years in Phillips Exeter Academy, and fourstudying Civil Engineering in Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, graduatingfrom the latter in 1895. He at once entered the Track Department of the Boston & Maine,Southern Division, where he remained as section hand and foreman until appointed TieInspector on Maine Central in January, 1S97. He acted as Assistant Roadniaster on SecondDivision from August, 1897, until appointed Roadmaster of the Third Division, February i,1898. The Evans Hotel, Gardiner, Me., is now reopened for business, having undergone athorough refitting throughout. It has been painted and papered, and all the furniture isnew. A bath room has bee n added, and all the plumbing and steam heating apparatus over-hauled. Electric lights in every room. The dining-room and kitchen has received particular attention, and as
