A green man roof boss in the east walk (1297-1318) of Norwich cathedral priory cloisters, Norfolk, England, wearing a woodland mask of may leaves.

One of nearly 400 coloured 'storied' bosses incorporated into the Norwich cathedral priory cloisters, rebuilt 1297-1430. This Green Man wearing a woodland mask of hawthorn (may) leaves, at the south end of the east walk (1297-1318), is in the foliate head or ‘Tête de Feuilles’ tradition of C13th France. Work started under Bishop Salmon with master-masons John and William Ramsay and gravour (sculptor) Simon Hue. The bosses were re-coloured in 1936 by Professor Tristram.
