The Coast Guard Cutter Polar Star (WAGB-10) is moored at a Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickham pier, Honolulu, Nov. 23, 2021. Polar Star is in route to Antarctica which marks the cutter’s 25th year of participation in Operation Deep Freeze, where it’s mission is to cut a path through ice fields for the resupply and refueling vessel to reach McMurdo station, the logistical hub for the Antarctic Program.
