Chez Chartier was founded in 1896 by siblings Frédéric and Camille Chartier (1845-1926). The interior of Chez Chartier is in the Art Deco style and has not changed much since it opened. The spacious room, which seats over 300 people and looks like a station waiting room, with a large clock on the wall to boot, is lit by a glass ceiling.
