One of the nine Dynastic Urns, ordered by Emperor Minh Mang in 1836 with one urn for each the epitome of Hué craftsmanship, the bronze urns were cast during the reign of Minh Mang and are ornamented with scenes of mountains, rivers, rain clouds and wildlife. Each urn is dedicated to an emperor: the middle urn, which is also the largest at 2600kg, honours Gia Long.
