The consequence has been that for seventeen yearsthe Institution has remained in a building, not only totally inadequate in thematter of space and accommodation, but also quite unsuited, structurally, forthe purposes for which it has been used. It is confidently expected, however,that the end of our troubles is in sight ; and that, when the Mitchell Wing isfinished, the remainder of the State Library will be commenced without anybreak in the
