The advantages of thisare obvious. Arrangements should also be made so that theoperator, without moving from his table, can manipulateall the signals necessary for stopping and starting trainsat that station. Running along the front of the station, between thebuilding and the main track, there should be a broadplatform, as shown in the drawings, for the accommoda-tion of passengers and the movement of baggage, as thebaggage, for trains going in one direction at least, willusually have to l)e mov
