210627-N-HG846-3059 SOLOMON SEA (June 27, 2021) – Sailors aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Rafael Peralta (DDG 115) render honors for those lost during the during the Solomon Islands campaign during a remembrance ceremony with Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force Takanami-class destroyer JS Makinami (DD 112). Rafael Peralta is assigned to Commander, Task Force 71/Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy's largest forward-deployed DESRON and 7th Fleet's principal surface force.
