This painting titled Portrait of Mrs. Richard Hoare With Her Infant Son is by Sir Joshua Reynolds (1723-1792) and is housed in The Wallace Collection in London. This portrait of Mrs. Hoare, of Boreham Park, was probably painted about 1783. The infant afterwards inspired Sir Joshua to one of his best child-pictures, "Master Hoare" in 1788. Reynolds was an influential English portrait painter and aesthetician who was extremely influential in the British artistic world in the mid and late 18th century.
