On board the nuclear powered aircraft carrier USS NIMITZ (CVN 68). Mess SPECIALIST 3rd Class (MS3) Michael Kropiewnicki checks one of the many turkeys prepared for the crew of the NIMITZ during this Thanksgiving holiday. Every effort was made to create a traditional American home cooked feast. The NIMITZ and her air wing are currently deployed to the Persian Gulf in support of UN sanctions against Iraq by patrolling the region under Operation SOUTHERN WATCH, 27 November 1997.
