Heart pacemaker surgery. Angiography being used during surgery to fit a pacemaker. The machine at top centre is taking an X-ray of the blood vessels of the chest. This is displayed at top left and helps the surgeon to guide the pacemaker's wires to the correct location. A pacemaker is a device that supplies electrical impulses to the heart to keep it beating regularly. The main body sits just under the skin and is attached to wires implanted into the heart muscle.
