A Tibetan Buddhist monk leans against a wall at the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. It was the chief residence of the Dalai Lama until the 14th Dalai Lama fled to Dharamsala, India after the invasion of the Chinese Army and failed Tibetan uprising in 1959. The Fifth Dalai Lama started construction of the Potala Palace in 1645.
