A German Pappenheim rapier with scabbard, circa 1630 Long, ridged, double-edged blade, the lower third etched with scrolling leaves, inscribed "SOLIDEO GLORIA" and oval cartouche with portrait of the Marshal of Pappenheim, also called "Schrammhans". Over the ricasso original leather rain guard with cover for the locket. Blackened iron knuckle-bow hilt with S-shaped quillons, the guard plates finely pierced with a geometrical pattern.
