06/03/22 Mariia Surushkina, (yellow scarf) who recently fled Dnipro, Ukraine arriving in Derby on March 1st was welcomed into the community. Led by the Very Rev. Fr. David J Sneak (Parish Priest for Ukrainian Catholic Parishes throughout the Midlands and Chancellor for the Ukrainian Catholic Church in the UK), parishioners attend Mass at St Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church on International Women’s Day Derby this morning. Many woman wore traditional embroidered Ukrainian dress as tributes and prayers were held next to a makeshift memorial containing photographs of women recently killed in Ukraine.
