Traditional rural architecture in Aroniadika village, Cythera (or "Kythira") island, Greece
In the "interior" or "mainland" of Cythera, you can find many beautiful villages, that keep their "character" pure and intact. There you can find some wonderful traditional architecture of Cythera. While on the villages in the shoreline someone can see Cycladian-like architecture, in those villages the Cretan and Venetian elements share the lion's part. Some of those villages are Aroniadika, Vrangianika, Mitata, Aloizianika etc. This particular photo was taken in Aroniadika, and the "detail" that I like best, is the well in the middle of the alley. The wells were the traditional "meeting points" of the housewives in the old days.
