Thomas Robinson was prompt to enter into thestruggle with England. We find him Captain of theFourth Pennsylvania, January 5, 1776; Major of theFifth, October 2, 1776; and as Lieutenant-Colonel ofthe First Pennsylvania, he was shot down while lead-ing his regiment in the Battle of Brandywine, Septem-ber 11, 1777. After a long illness, he recovered, andentered the army again. January r, 1783, he wastransferred to the Second Pennsylvania, and serveduntil the disbanding.
