A German broadsword, dated 1695. A single-edged blade with fullers and a slightly broadened double-edged point. Crescent marks stamped on both sides. There are 15 numbered riders, designated by name, etched along the entire length of the obverse side of the blade. Among other inscriptions, the point bears "Posthalter hat Venz. Scharlach gewonen Anno 6 July 1695 dert.". The reverse side bears the imperial eagle and is completely covered with floral etching.
