Mitte Museum, Pankstraße 47,Gesundbrunnen,Mitte-Berlin,Germany. Local history Museum in Historic former school building built 1864-1866 The brick building is a historical monument. It was built in 1865-1866 as the community school based on a design by Adolf Gerstenberg and master builder Petersen and is one of the oldest surviving school buildings in Berlin. The Mitte Museum was created in 2001 as a result of the Berlin administrative reform and emerged from the merger of the three formerly independent local history museums in Mitte, Tiergarten and Wedding. The history, culture and art of the Mitte district are displayed in permanent and temporary exhibitions
