Woman in Typical 18th Century Dutch Dress, Blettermanhuis, Stellenbosch Village Museum, Stellenbosch, South Africa. The Stellenbosch Village Museum is a collection of period houses dating from 1709 to 1929, restored and furnished in the style of its own period. Blettermanhuis was built around 1789 by Hendrik Lodewyk Bletterman, the last magistrate of Stellenbosch to be appointed by the Dutch East India Company. It is a typical 18th century Cape house and contains furniture and other household objects from the period 1750-1780.
