Cumbria Lake Windermere 27th May 2018 Fire in car ferry engine room . 80 people where evacuated .HM Coastguard was called at 12:45 BST Hawkshead Ferry stranded on Windermere .The chain ferry was carrying 81 people, 15 cars & eight bicycles,.Two people reported minor injuries. Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service, received reports of a small fire in the engine room of the ferry. The passengers were moved quickly ashore by the Lake Wardens Fire was out when the fire fighting team boarded the vessel Sunday evening view from Ferry Nab showing ferry .
