Mirage. Two images of a coastal scene taken from slightly different angles with the top image showing an inferior mirage. The mirage has made objects on the right appear to be separated from the mainland and floating in an area of sky. The bottom image shows what the scene actually looks like. An inferior mirage is an optical phenomenon caused by refraction of light above the ground surface. Photographed at the Pointe de Trevignon, Brittany, France.
